Welcome To
Touching up our roots Georgia's LGBTQ story project.

Touching Up Our Roots is an incorporated non-profit in the state of Georgia registered with the Georgia Secretary of State.
We want to have fun with our LGBTQ story, so choose Touching Up Our Roots as a name to play with (thanks to longtime activist Liz Throop, who thought it up). After all, we all need to be touching up our roots!
Specifically we are sharing Georgia's long march to freedom for full human and civil rights for all LGBT people, and our allies.
We are exploring how LGBTQ people transformed from 125 brave souls soldiering forth on the sidewalks in June 1971 for Atlanta's first Pride march, to
a Pride festival drawing up to half a million people today.

Fasten your seatbelts,
it's a bumpy but inspiring ride.
